Meet Carissa
Carissa, our founder, was introduced to mat Pilates at a young age by her ballet teacher. Over the years, she kept returning to her mat, drawn by the clarity, strength, and pain relief it brought her. Her journey deepened with a private session at Core Pilates in NYC, where she quickly enrolled in their 600-hour comprehensive teacher training program.
Since then, Carissa has remained dedicated to her growth as an instructor. She regularly pursues continuing education, joins Zoom classes with mentors, and travels to bring fresh insights to her clients. Her approach blends deep knowledge, lived experience, and a passion for helping others feel their best.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Pilates is a mind-body exercise method developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 1900s. It focuses on core stability, strength, and flexibility, muscle control, posture, and breathe. This practice encourages a deeper connection between the mind and body, promoting overall wellness and improved physical performance. Importantly, individuals at any level of physical fitness can benefit from Pilates, as it complements all other methods of movement, enhancing overall physical capabilities and well-being.
COMMON QUESTIONS
We recommend wearing form-fitted clothing so our instructors can easily see your alignment and make necessary adjustments. Additionally, please wear grip socks to help your feet stay grounded and prevent slipping. We also offer grip socks for purchase at the studio. Avoid wearing waist trainers, restrictive clothing, or clothing with hardware.
COMMON QUESTIONS
We are skilled in providing modifications for various injuries; however, we require a note of medical clearance outlining your limitations. Depending on the injury or limitation, we will either recommend private sessions for individualized attention or suggest sticking with our signature class, The Core, to ensure your safety. Please call the studio to speak with the front desk for further assistance.
